Stuart
Now that the house purchase problems are behind us, we are just beginning to find out about renovation/builder problems. We had a meeting with our architect to discuss our plans for the renovation and, a few weeks later, received the first set of devis. These included some things that we had not requested or thought of, so we crossed out the ones we did not agree with and sent them back to be redone. We are now waiting for the revised costs to come back.I have no doubt that this will be my first question of many about renovation, so here goes: Once the devis have been agreed and signed, is the price binding on both sides (similar to a quote) or can it fluctuate - i.e. go through the roof - (more like an estimate)? ThanksStuart
Chrissid
Once the devis has been agreed and signed and the work stays the same as quoted in the devis, i.e. there are no unforeseen problems or you change your mind about certain things like appliances, the price is binding.Christianewww.francesw.com
