Orion
Is there any reason that soil and waste pipes always seem to be installed internally? Is it permissible/advisable to mount soil pipes and/or waste pipes either partly or completely on the outside. I have a couple of holes through a 800 mm wall already which would save a lot of work but involve some pipes being outside.Any comments or advice welcome. Mysfloss
no reason why you can't put pipes outside.
Bw
We have one waste water pipe that's external (all others are internal). One snag is that it freezes in winter (where the elbow between the down-pipe and the horizontal(ish) part is. If you're somewhere temperate that's fine but we're a mile above sea-level in a ski resort so it happened a couple of times last winter!
Piprob
Local building regulations vary.External pipework is both more weather-prone and more unsightly.Rob
