the chiefivor
I've finished wiring our house and have applied for the electric supply.I've been sent a form 'Attestation de Conformite' to have the installation checked, and although I can answer most of the questions, I'm rather stuck on one which asks 'mesure de la resistance de prise de terre ..........ohms'Is there a formula I can use to work this out, or can anyone advise me what to put? Many thanks'The Chief'
Punch
You need to measure the resistance of your main earth rod(s). We use a proprietary earth electrode tester. You can do it with a megger type tester but it is more complicated. You would be best advised to either hire or borrow the correct tester. The resistance of the earth electrode should be less than 100 ohms (if the EDF main disjoncteur is 500 milliamp).Paul
