Chris Head
Is there a plaster that stays workable for longer than the normal stuff? I'm just not fast enough to get it to do what I want before it's gone off!!Thanks, Chris Head
Punch
Yes Chris,Try using Lutece 2000 or 3000, working times are respectively longer for each.Paul
Ianhaycox
I thought you needed the 'L' designation for Long/Longue for more working time. E.g. Lutec 2000 L or 3000 L
Peter72
Reading the bags the 2000 is for thick layers and the 3000 is for thin skims, the C suffix is fast (court) and the L is the slow (lent), but slow is relative here. Some of the things that make plaster set too quickly are:Stale Plaster, buy fresh and dump leftoversContamination from partly set plaster on tools and bucketsNot enough waterMixing too vigerous, also beats in little air bubblesI'm sure that someone will add to this list.RegardsPeterPS George, mix with a large wooden spoon! cabman
Excellent advice in the previous thread.I would add that cleanliness is the main key to plaster workability, especially the mixing water.Clean containers, clean tools, clean water every mix.
