Helen888
just a quickie...can anyone tell me the french word for wood hardener? Many thanks!
Chrissie
Do you mean as in "varnish with hardener" i.e. to give a stronger finish? In which case it's "vernis avec adurcisseur". (Seems too basic, am sure you mean something more technical!)Chrissie(81)
Alexis
I know what you mean but can't think of it's name. Isn't it just durissor? Durissor de bois perhaps? My spelling doesn't look right . . .

I'm sure someone would show me the right shelf if not the right product.
Helen888
Thankyou! I think i will try the above. I have to recycle an old pair of windows that really have seen better days and while its not ideal i am hoping they will last a year or so till i can get better ones. The wood isnt quite rotten but getting there in places...I searched the net for wood hardener and apparently you can use it to 'repair' rotten wood but i couldnt find the French for it. Anton Redman
Isabel used something called I think 'Bondex' on what I thought were a wrecked pair of shutters. 8 years on the shutters are still going strong. Expensive but far quicker and cheaper time than building new shutters.
