Will
Best thing is to search on the forum as this has been discussed before. These might help:http://forums.livingfrance.com/shwmessage.aspx?forumid=285&messageid=160208http://forums.livingfrance.com/shwmessage.aspx?forumid=285&messageid=142963http://forums.livingfrance.com/shwmessage.aspx?forumid=285&messageid=168272
Audois
How large is your house? How large do you envisage the woodburner being? Dependant on the m2 to be heated you ought to get someone who knows what they're doing so that the chimney goes through the 'necessary' space in the house.I know of some houses that are almost entirely heated by a woodburner, it just depends how you go about it! Dick Smith
We just went to the local quincaillerie which stocks a range of stoves (often a rather cacky brown) and he supplied and fitted it, free. Alternatively you can pick them up in the brico sheds, and either fit them or get a local tradesman. Either way they are a good idea.
Val_2
I can give you details privately of an Irish/French company in Alsace who specialise in making and fitting woodburners. They have a range of double skinned ones and ones that can run a hot water system etc. They can be delivered to your door and fitted by one of their agents inthe building trade if you are interested. They also have a website you can visit as well.
essancee
Villager (UK) are very helpful and will give you the name and number of your nearest French supplier. Their number is 0044(0)870 160 2202 or there is an E mail - stoves@villager.co.uk.
