Peter S Bartlett
The front walls of my house and garage in Southern Burgundy need to be re-rendered. It is stone but not in good enough condition to be "pierre apparente". I am told it should be rendered in lime mortar and will need three coats. The total area is about 85 square metres and the old render which was cement has been removed.Does anybody know if three layers of lime mortar is right and roughly how much a builder is likely to charge per square metre.Peter Bartlett
VJ
http://www.mikewye.co.uk/index.htmPeter the use of lime is probably the best building material there is to useIf you go to the link above it will explain most of what you need to know without going on to the society for the protection of ancient buildings SPAB Not sure what you will pay to have it done in France but shop around and make certain to inspect previous work, and ensure it is Lime and not some compilation.Regards VJ
