ChipshopCharlie
Hi,I'm about to start renovating a granite building, part of which involves remodelling the external walls and hence moving around some very heavy granite lintels and other stones. Can anybody tell me what equipment the French artisans use for moving/placing heavy stonework?Presumably it's some form of hydraulic/mechanical equipment? The building I'm working on is 140 years old - I can only wonder at how they did it then!?Charlie
Ron Avery
On most new build sites round here they have a small fixed crane erected. They also use a tractor type vehicle with long hydraulic hoist arms to which they attach a bucket or work platform, I have never seen these in the UK

andyh4
Ours used what I can best describe as a grown up Tonka Toy. A cross between a JCB, Fork Lift Truck and Big Tractor
