Jeanneclaire
Help! I need to pick some brains again, I am taking some ugly/thick wallpaper off my walls (looks like thin carpet), the paper and backing come off easily enough, but this leaves a skin/tacky glue substance, that is a nightmare to get off, I have used wallpaper stripper, fairy liquid, and steam, does anyone have any ideas, or information on products that would make my life more simple. jeanneclaire

Gyn_Paul
You're looking for a solvent: have you tried White Spirit ? , Acetone ? , Caustic Soda ? Hydrochloric acid (in fact try ALL of the bottles on the brico shelf in the supermarket, but one at a time) Once you find whatever it dessolves in, ask yourself if you REALLY want to take it off or just smooth out the lumps and bumps and then paper over the top of it.p
