Teamedup
Has anyone bought one of these and are they efficient etc etc?
Deimos
I don’t know but, I had an architect round who specialised in environmentally friendly energy and he liked them (he visited almost a year ago now). I believe there are actually two types: those that burn pellets (for smaller houses) and those that burn wood chips (for larger houses). The running costs are meant to be quite low, but the purchase costs (installation) quite high. This architect estimated €20k plus for my house (400 sq m).At the time this guy came round he said there were only a few installations in Sarthe (72) so they are not very common. The web site http://www.prochauffage.com/ has info. If you look around on the main page (i.e. the one the link takes you to), on the right hand side towards the bottom there are some comparative running costs (i.e. cost per kw) for different fuels.Sorry but that is all I can comment on.Ian
Teamedup
A friend mentioned these recently and no one else I know had heard of them. Two interesting things for me were that they do automatically fill themselves, whereas with solid fuel usually if you aren't there then the fire goes out. And that they are supposed to be economic to run too.
Poolguy
Very econoical to run and easy as puching a button.Fuel supplies now cover 45% of france and installation price is dropping with bigger numbers. Will be installing mine with solar collector next summer.Anyone who buys a oil fired system today is either a bit loose in the head or has more money than sence.Andrew
