billyo
Hi Im just about to complete on the purchase of a tobacco hanger, and am wondering what to do with the exterior walls. Seems to me that I need to 1 Put up a plastic sheet (inside) to make the walls water tight as some of the boards have moved2 Put in stud partition type structure attached to the cross bems that support the outside boards for extra strength3 Insulate and put up vapour barrier and then plaster board.Does that sound right or am I missing something obvious!!! Any advice would be welcome.
andyh4
I'm no expert but if you put up plastic sheet the vapour barrier can't do its job
billyo
Fair point Andy, but surley if I dont protect the insulation from heavy rain then its going to rot and cause me a whole world of trouble later
dinks
One answer would be to use a breather membrane Like a roofing felt will keep water out but allow all inside to breathe
