Kieran
We have recently purchased a house in the Limoux area.It has a basement which we would like to board out using plasterboard and battens.Could anyone advise on, if it is more practical to buy in the UK and transport the materials over,or if prices of materials are of similar cost. Does anyone have info as to where is the best place to buy.
zeb
You don't really want to bring plasterboard to France do you??Just go along to your nearest builders' merchants (Point P?) and they'll have a selection. Price at our local Bricomarche for ordinary (NF standard) plaque de platre is 2.33euros per sq.metre. Hydrofuge (the green hydrofuge boards for showerrooms are about 8.50 euros per sq.mt) Delivery charges vary - we pay around 15euros. The French method is studwork using metal rails but the cutting/pinching tools are quite dear so if it's just for one small project, buy wood.Good luck.
