DebM
Good day,I wonder if anyone out there has an answer for me. My husband and I have a maison secondaire in Deux Serves and we would like to put in a bore hole in our garden. Do you know if there are any restrictions on us doing this and what sort of costs are involved. Thanks
Babnik
I'm sure someone else will know the definitive answer, but I'd be verysurprised if you can do this with out a lot of red-tape, if at all.Deux Serves is one of the regions with water shortages. I stress thisis just a guess.
chris pp
I rather gather that you will need an extraction permit and as mentioned in the previous post this will probably not be easy to get. I think that there are already moves under way from the ministry of ecologie to restrict new bores being drilled even for farmers. Underground water belongs to the water company and can not be mechanically pumped "just like that", this also applies to existing wells which are designed for hand use only! The laws are bound to be more stringently enforced as the restrictions in Poitou-Charentes are now about 95% certain to continue through 2006 - it just isn't raining - not proper rain anyway. When I get a chance I will search out the definitive answer, but it may be a week or two.Chris
