Nick Trollope
We are in the process of converting our old stables into an extra living room.Having, with permission(!) started the demolition of these cob (earth approx 1M thick, sitting on a stone wall) walls, I discover that the far wall is actually in pretty good condition, and is holding up our neighbours barn. I want to avoid the expense of rebuilding 1/2 of next doors property. My original design involved the complete removal of the entire building and rebuilding from the ground up.It appears that I can usefully retain this wall, and the roof A frames, which are also in pretty good condition. There does not appear to be any damp coming up, or through the cob wall. What must I look out for when reusing this wall? Has anyone any experience of the "Ulilin" roofing system - or how to get them to answer emails!TIA!
