Chrissie
I'm sure this must have been covered before somewhere, but does anyone else find themselves rolling on the floor with laughter at some of the prices quoted on TV shows for renovating properties in France? You know the sort of thing: "Here we have an extra benefit - wow! - there's a mouldy old bit of barn at the back of the garage and I got a bloke in the village to say he'd be able to put 3 en-suite bedrooms and a kitchinette in here for about 2000 euros!"(OK, maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but I'm sure you all know what I mean......)Chrissie (81)
Val_2
We have often commented on the stupid facts those type of programmes give people, what a shock they get when the real world comes along and gives them a slap in the face with proper estimates. Sevenup
I suspect that entertainment takes priority over facts.
Gyn_Paul
The rot starts with the fact that most of these programmes have beenaround for 3 or 4 years. The gulible hear only the (now) ludicrousprices, and never stay long enough to read "© Channel 4, 2001" !
LesFlamands
Television programmes are generally no worse than the average estate agent trying to make a sale. I agree about often being out of date.
Deimos
I often think that when these satellite channels repeatfairly old programs it would be helpful if they made the date the program wasmade more obvious (particularly for e.g. the “Place in the Sun” type programsthat run for quite a few years). Itwould help the viewers, though might emphasise how out-of-date the programs arethey are showing !Ian

The TV companies ought to have to retitle it "A place in the sun 2001" etc.Alcazar
