Chrissie
Has anyone any experience of having Lapeyre totally refit a bathroom? They are just about the only people anywhere in our area who do this service, so I have to decide whether to go with them or whether to do it the tedious way and organise builder/tiler/decorator/electrician etc myself...... Just as a nostalgic aside, in the UK we had a B&Q bathroom installed by their service and they were so efficient and the work was good quality......Chrissie (81)
SC
I think it depends on who does the work, as far as I know, in the UK it's subcontractors working to agreed standards, and in our area it was an excellent fitter. In France most plumbers will fit a bathroom for you, but they may want you to buy the fittings at a supplier of their choice who may be expensive.Although La Peyre prices are not bargain basement, they're not too expensive, and the quality seems good. We bought a complete mid range bathroom there about five years ago that I fitted myself, and I can't find any fault with the materials. They don't have the range of taps and fittings that Castorama or Leroy Merlin do though. Steve

The downside is that Lapeyre dictate theprices charged and so most artisans that are any good and have plentyof work would not want to get involved. We have worked with Lapeyre for the last six years and for us thePartenaire Artisan system is not worthwhile and so have just stayedwithin their Espace Pro system. The problem with the Lapeyre system is that there are going to bemultiple trades involved, rather than one person that can install thebathroom fittings, do the plumbing, do the tiling, etc.As others have said, you may be better advised to find a local plumber(with recommendations) to do the job for you. The cost may be be higherbut you will have some callback in the event of problems. You could also check for a good bathroom supplier/installer in your your area on www.gapsa.frKind regards,Bob Clarkehttp://perso.wanadoo.fr/grindoux
Chrissie
Thanks for both your replies - I do like the Lapeyre products so will have to investigate further. Sorry to take so long to respond but down here we were hit 2 weeks ago by a freak ice-storm and although we are now back on the phone and elec circuits, every spare moment is being taken up chain-sawing and stacking fallen branches.....
