zeb
Hi - I have to renew the seal on my woodburner this year. Has anyone tried taking the door from a woodburner to Weldoms (or similar) and having a new seal fitted or do you have to buy one direct from the manufacturer and fit it yourself? BJSLIV
If you meam the "asbestos" rope seal, they usually sell the stuff by the yard and you you can fit it yourself witha special glue.
Ian 56
Take care you get the right thickness for the replacement cord. Best to take a bit of the old stuff to the supplier. If you know the size hypermarkets also sell the replacement. These days it is fibre glass cord.ian
Val_2
I decided to get our stove door redone after the glass suddenly cracked right across during the summer for no reason and went to the local chimney/stove shop who did the lot at not a lot more than it would have cost us to buy all the materials, for my piece of mind even though we could have done it ourselves, those glass doors get mighty hot.
