Anton Redman
We have a well in good condition that was close to full last September when we purchased the house. Recently looked at cost of pumps for using water for irrigating the garden. Broadly on a spend of Euros 200 for pump, houses and Some additional plumbing I found got pay back after 4 years allowing for power to run the system etc. simply using the water for WCs and the Washing Machine with only two of us in the house full time. Pump is quieter than I imagined and will be insulated in the garage part of the grange Has anybody else done the calculations ? Does anybody else use pumped well water for this ? Any unforeseen drawbacks / comments please ?
Dick Smith
I don't know about the cost, but make sure you can't hear the pump in the middle of the night - ours was a beast! As I recall the pump was about €200 to buy (each time - another story), and our water bills now (including toilets and w/m of course) are far below that, but it's a holiday home. Anton Redman
Thanks for the thought but we will have two stone walls between us and it when we are sleeping. Also thanks to a clean conscience and a dirty minds we even sleep through the French Airforce doing lowlevel attach practice.
