Ccsn
Best suggestion I can make is to make the wall as dense as possible by filling the cavity with rockwool insulation and to double up with plaster board on each side of the wall. If possible stagger the board so that the first layer joints are covered by the second board.Don't underestimate the noise transmission through joint gaps and holes for services such as pipes and wires. Make sure board goes right to floor and ceilings and fit skirting. resist temptation to fill gaps with expanding foam.It will help but it is not very dense. Far better to stuff rockwool in gaps by hand.No idea where to get rockwool in France probably Big Mat.It worked for me Good luckcolin
bigjimbishop
Rock wool is Laine de Roche and is available in rolls, boards and loose from Brico Depot (my second home)
Coco
You can also get it at Point P and they understand Rockwool anyway, as that is the name on the packaging. If you can pronounce a French "R" that is. My husband and his brother spent a good ten minutes trying to get the assistant to understand their attempts at saying Rockwool with a French accent. Finally, they gave up and pointed at it in the catalogue and a much relieved assistant said "Ahhhh Rockwool". [:$]
