ThomasD
I am hoping someone will know the answer to this question - have looked about and not found anything. Does anyone know if Fonciere and Habitation taxes are higher or lower (or no different) if the house is registered as a maison secondaire?ThanksThomas
BJSLIV
There are, allegedly. some places that charge a higher rate of tax for second homes. But it might be apocryphal! The habitation tax is reduced for families with lower incomes, a reduction that never applies to second homes.
Pickles
I seem to recall that on ours there was a 1.5% deduction for a primary residence, which obviously you didn't get if it was a second home.RegardsPickles.
Pierre ZFP
I recall something similar and remember thinking why bother with such a piffiling amount?
Frederick
I didnt even bother to find out with mine .......I was delighted that even with the TV licence included it was such a small amount to pay . .....Compared with a Dorset band E council tax plus TV licence ..........Its not worth presenting yourself and filling in the forms for .
