Monika
We would like to buy a shed from Leroy Merlin which I have seen on the Internet. I have the following questions:What does L and P stand for in the measurements? What does Dimension hors tout mean? How big do we need to make the base if the Dimension hors tout is 4.62 m? Does Conditionnement mean the size of the whole package. (2x1x1.2 (Would it fit into a Mercedes Vito?)Do you think we need to order or can we just go and pick it up? Thank you so much! Albert the InfoGipsy
Probable answers:What does L and P stand for in the measurements? Longeur & profondeur (length x depth)What does Dimension hors tout mean? Overall size, probably allows for roof overhangs & suchlike. How big do we need to make the base if the Dimension hors tout is 4.62 m? Without seeing all the specs I'd guess that your base would need to use the L & P dimensions.Does Conditionnement mean the size of the whole package. I think so.(2x1x1.2 (Would it fit into a Mercedes Vito?) Dunno, never looked at a Merc Vito.Do you think we need to order or can we just go and pick it up? I'd ring if it's a long way.HTH
Gluestick
Not trying to be patronising, but do you have planning permission for a shed?Worth checking.
Monika
Thanks for that, perfect! Do you think we need a planning permission? I thought as it is removable one does not need one? Might be a good idea however to check with the Mairie? Thanks
Nick Trollope
Not trying to be patronising, but do you have planning permission for a shed?Worth checking.
At 4.6 metre carré, they would not need it.
Cassis
Declaration de travaux?
westland
Yes, we had to have a declaration de travaux for our 3x2 metre shed and we had to submit it twice with lots more drawings/photos than we thought. It then took three months to get permission. However, we are within the radius of an historical monument which means that it always takes a month longer and we have to give lots of info. Also others on this forum who helped me with my "shed" queries have advised that some areas of France seem to be more easy going than others.P.S. our instructions advise a base 10cm wider on every side. Jeff
We installed a 3.5 x 3.5 metre shed. The Maire told us no permission was required.
BJSLIV
The rules say you don't need any permission if its for....................ouvrages dont la surface au sol est inférieure à 2 m2 et d'une hauteur inférieure à 1,5 mIf the Mayor has said that you don't need permission for a shed of about 10 sq metres he has given you a pragmatic opinion rather than a definitive statement of the law. Mayors are not 100% expert in planning law, that knowledge resides at the DDE. In practice I would think you are unlikely to encounter any grief about a shed, unless you have upset someone.
