hatty5
We know that we need to replace the ancient (or possibly non-existant!) septic tank at our holiday house. Does anyone know if reed bed filtration systems are acceptable to the new guidelines? Or is it septic tank or nothing? Thanks in advance for any info! chris pp
I'll kick this back up near the top in the hope that someone knows more than me about it.Reed bed filtration systems are possible in France, much will depend on where you are and they attitude of the local powers that be. What I can state categorically is that "dry" toilets are completely acceptable and legal, so by using these, there is only a requirement to deal with grey water, which is very easy with a reed bed filtration system.Chris
Iain
Chris,Out of interest, is that what you use yourself? I'd be interested to hear how it performs (and how much hassle it is/isn't).Iain
