maude
Now we have the winter upon us,I am trying to find the correct way of operating our Godin woodburning foyer. We have two centre air vents into the ash box area, and two air inlet vents side bottom to allow air into the combustion box,and a butterfly type flue damper. Is it the correct way of operation to have the airvents open and use the flue damper to regulate how much heat goes up the flue and wasted,or to throttle down the air inlets and open the flue damper?Any suggestions welcome. MaudeThanks Folks for any help
Dave&Olive
hi ok here we are again in the black art of wood burners...brits seem to have a problem with them first thing is to forget coal and open fires , it`s like saying a cat and dog are the same . so in a nutshell format the bottom is to make it go ,the side ones are there if your chimney is too efficent for the fire and the top damper ......is a damper use it over night to keep the fire in ,the only one who can get it working properly is you...... after 2 winters here you will be posting ...HOW TO GET THE BEST OUT OF YOUR WOOD BURNER good luck dave
