eniamor
Hi all woodburning experts,We are about to move into a large property that has no heating and quite fancy the idea of a woodburning range for cooking, hot water and heating as there is a lovely large fireplace in the kitchen. We have visited Rayburn's website and found one (355SFW) that will probably meet our needs but we would love to find a French equivalent if there is such a thing. We would appreciate any information on stockists in Creuse, or nearby, and would love to hear your experiences of woodburning ranges, good or bad. Thanks for your helpEniamor
Will
The French equivalents tend to be less heavily built but still seem to work OK. They also seem to have the advantage (at least in my experience of wood burning Rayburns) that they can take longer logs. Look at http://cuisine.godin.fr/ (click on the 'cuisine et chauffage' link) for some examples.
Jc
I had a friend with a farmhouse;he had a woodburning cooker that supplied his hot water/central heating as well.I can't remember what it was called but "Volcane"rings a bell. However what I can remember was the amount of wood it got thro' but then he did have his own forest. Jollity Farm
We've got an ancient 'De Dietrich' woodburner thats great for heating and cooking- don't know if it could be adapted for hot water as well- pretty economical on logs tho and takes fairly big ones
