tonshun
Having been totally confused by the huge amount of wood preserves available, can anyone recommend the name of a creosote substitute please? (i want to protect some new fence posts and not just rely on the manufacturer's treatment when they were made). I'm not in a termite region, so just wish to protect against rot. Thankyou. Cassis
Soak the ends in 'goudron liquide' (liquid tar) if they are in contact with the soil. You can treat the rest with "lasure" (non-creosote preservative and finish). This link shows step by step how to do a panel fence but the same principles apply regarding protecting softwood posts.Erecting a softwood panel fence
