Pierre ZFP
I was OK with the waste fittings as tehy were all 42mm (I think) But I had a problem with the feed pipes. I thought the existing ones were 15mm like the UK but when I tried to attach them to the taps - no joy. Seems the French standard is 14 mm. I got new French taps (which were much nicer than the old ones I had) and connected them with flexible hose which makes life so much easier. The flexi hose even incorporated a stop valve - marvellous!
Jc
Not just 14mm but a lot of other sizes are available;have a look in your local DIY shed. Our local M.Bricolage has three different ranges of compression fittings let alone soldered and they seem just to vary by 2mm.(ie,10,12,14 and so on).
