Postie
Does anyone know of a stone mason who can cut some dressed stones? I need some corner stones & a fireplace lintel. We are situated between Fontenay le Compte & Lucon. Don't mind having to travel a bit to collect. Many thanxPostie

Blanche Neige
There's a reclamtion yard / place on the RN between Saintes and La Rochelle (17) I am sure they would be able to do the work but it may be too far away for you. They have a great collection of fireplaces, stonework, gates etc. almost enough to build your own small chateau!

Blanche Neige
Coming from Saintes towards la Rochelle it is on the left hand side of the road. Sorry I can't give more accurate details. We drove past only the other week on our way to the airport but I can't tell you now exactly how far along the road it is. We did call in a couple of years ago we were at that time looking for a new (old ) stone fireplace. They would have sold us one and got someone connected with their firm to fit it.I am sure someone on this forum will know exactly where it is. I have sent you a PM
Debra
We were looking for a stone lintel for our fireplace and searched everywhere. We found quite a lot of places but they were prohibitively expensive. In the end, we opted for a nicely cut weathered oak lintel.
