charles
We have recently received estimates for renovations to our 45 year old house. We asked our builder to give us a devis to 'crepi' the house exterior at the same time but he warned us that this may take us over the threshold at which TVA is paid on renovations at 5.5% to 19.6% on ALL the work. There apparently is a threshold on renovations costs as a percentage of the habitable space/surface area, over which the work is considered new build and not renovations. Has anyone else come across this and could you advise. Thank you.
Val_2
We have finally just received the official attestations to be given to clients on finished works, issued by Direction Generale des Impôts which lays out the new rules. There is a threshold and new regulations, far too much stuff to type out on here. Ask your artisan for a photocopy of the attestation normale and of the attestation simplifiée and read for yourself the new restrictions as laid out by the government. Talk about making life more complicated for folks who have to work all hours there is anyway without more paperwork to do.
