Yvonne
Can anyone advise if and how we can 'dot and dab' plasterboard onto a tiled wall? We are renovating a room that is fully tiled and don't really want to remove all the tiles or have to use a rail syatem. Any ideas please??ThanksAbi
sheldonrobbo
i wouldn't recommend dot and dabbing onto tiled surface .....if the tiles are sound and well adhered to the existing wall why not just tile over them ......thats the obvious solution
Yvonne
Hi,thanks for your advise. the problem we have is that we don't want to re-tile the wall. A kitchen is becoming an office! It looks as though we may have to use rails then...Thanks,Abi
Mr Coeur de Lion
I've put some plasterboard over tiles. I used the special colle that you normally use for adhering the boards to the wall if not using rail. I also used the special black screws, aiming to screw between the tiles into the grout. It's been up for a year and hasn't fallen down yet.
expat paul
Like its been said dabbing on to tiles is not good but why not hack off a few tiles here and there and dab where the tiles were.
