Catalpa
We ordered a made-to-measure double door +window with double-glazing from a local artisan. We specified to theartisan (and it was included on their devis) that we wanted the glazingto have the anti-sun / heat film which reduces sun-heat into thesouth-facing room (faible émissivité) and an argon gas filled gapbetween the panes. It’s a big window and we wanted high spec. For several reasons (the order manufacturing description from theglazing factory which was stuck to the glass being the main one) wedon’t think the glazing has been supplied with either the film or theargon-filled gap. We’ve asked for a copy of the artisan’s order to the glazingcompany confirming the specification of the glazing and a copy of themanufacturing order / or delivery note generated by the glazing companyconfirming what was manufactured. In over 2 months, our artisan hasn’t supplied either and the glazingcompany won’t (not unreasonably) give the information direct to us. Thefirst invoice from the artisan did not include the film / argon detail;when we asked him about it, he produced a second invoice which didinclude the film / argon detail. Does anyone know of any way – some form of test – which will establishthe likely specification of these double glazed units? The artisan hasdone a superb carpentry job building the window itself – we’re verypleased with that - but equally, we want to be sure we are paying forexactly what we specified on the devis. Any ideas anyone?
