londoneye
ChoccieWe received a one-off bill for our barn and stable renovation project. It is not called Taxe d'urbanisme but I think it is what it is. My neighbour explained it to me as a tax you pay for offsetting any harm your project will do the environment. I am not totally convinced of his explanation, but there you go.My understanding, and I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, is that you pay this in two instalments, the first being (if my own bill is standard), 18 months after your construction permit is agreed, and the second 18 months after the first one.The amount will depend on the work you have declared you will be carrying out. Our bill is 1,400 odd euros.
