chocccie
I am renovating a room half of which was painted many (30+) years ago, so it's going to have lead in it no doubt.I've got rid of all of the loose stuff. Half of the room I'm not concerned about as I'm erecting a stud wall with rockwool for added insulation. If I render over the other wall and then paint it, will the remnents of lead paint be detectable through it? Is there any health concern? It will be SUCH a drag if I need to get rid of the remaining paint!Cheers!
Deimos
When you purchased the house normally there wouldhave been a lead and asbestos report identifying if and where therewas lead paint ?Ian
chocccie
There was, and there is. EDIT - re-reading this, it sounds very brusque! Which wasn't my intention. (I did have the survey, don't know where it is, and there is lead indicated. Most of the place was wallpapered, barring this one room.)
Anton Redman
If it is not flaking and kids or pets cannot chew on it then it is unlikely to be a problem if painted over. Try Google on 'Lead Paint' for some background.
