CeeJay
I am in the throes of costing the installation of town gas central heating. At present we have gaz de ville pipes connected to a meterless box set in the outside wall, but not actually taken into the house. Is there a standard charge from GDF for the connection into the house and fitting a meter or does it vary from region to region, and, more importantly, what is that cost likely to be. Gyn_Paul
Whatever it is you are a lucky so-and-so. Most of us would give our eye teeth to have gaz de ville !Every survey I've seen still has GdeV as the cheapest heating source (except, of course for those people with a personal forest; and even then they need an indentured serf to cut and bring in the wood). p
Le Plombier
If you contact GDF they should install the meter, it is their property and no one else can install itThey will probably charge you but they are the only ones who can do itFrom the meter to the property a gas qualified plumber can run the supply to the house and he will issue a certificate of conformity for his installationLe Plombier
