londoneye
I know there have been questions before, but can't find exactly what I am looking for. We built a small pool-house out of breeze block thingies, and then rendered it with sand and chalk mix. Looks very nice, colour same as our own pointing etc.Problem is, when rendering gets wet, we get a not very lovely breeze block outline showing through, and in one corner water soaks through blocks to inside of pool-house. Since there is nothing structural to worry about with tiny pool-house, we would like to paint over outside with something to effectively make the outside water-proof. It would need to be some kind of clear solution.Anyone done this, and know where I can buy, and what the name of it would be please ?
Ford Anglia
Well, in the UK, I'd use Thompson's Water Seal, available cheaply now from Screwfix, among others. it can be painted, or preferably, sprayed on, and dries completely clear. You could try Googling it, then see if they have a website, then see if it's available in France? raindog
To prevent seeing the shape of the breeze blocks when the wall's wet you should always apply a cement/sand rendering before doing the crèpi finish. (this would probably waterproof the wall to a certain extent too)
