Want to install a large wood burner for the barn conversation that we can link via a back burner to the heating system to help power the underfloor heating and a few radiators placed in the ensuite, bathroom and toilet. has anyone used this system, how well does it work, anything we need to be aware of when using this system.

Also what underfloor system have you used and where were they purchased from, we have had quotes from English companies but want to source this from a local supplier.

Have previously had a wood burner with BB running rads and this works well but can be a little uncontrolable in sa far as the system throws out as much heat as the fuel you are feeding.  Running underfloor as well from the same heat source is bound to complicate matter a littlke since you will be mixing hot (rads) and cool (UF) heat sources.

Best suggestion for a French quote would be to ask for devis from local plumbers.  You will find them very familair with setting up boith sets of systems and you don't need to go to a specialist company.

Hmmmm I thought there was a restriction on unvented systems? I prefer solid fuel back boilers to be vented as pressure can build up immensely when running at full chat. Its funny when people fit a plastic F and E tank and the open vent melts it down to a thing resembling a crisp bag!
