where do I buy sockets for placement into the floor boards

Just about to lay a new oak floor and want to put 2 sockets with covers so that I can have a lamp in the middle of the room.  I have found a brushed inox one in 2 electrical stores CEGB ( or something like that) and a another local store, but both do not have any other options.  I do know there is a brass one available.

Can any one tell me where to find any other coloured or brass sockets with a cover to place in oak floorboards.

Given the NF for ordinary sockets require them to be a minimum of 5 cm above the floor, 12 cm for 32 amp, I think you wiil struggle to find anyhting suitable

Look for a booklet published by Legrand titled "Je fais moi-meme mon installation electrique".  I found one in Bricomarche at 3€ but you can get it free if you buy 10€-worth of Legrand products.  Apart from practical and clear diagrams it contains pictures of their product range 'Celiane' mentioned earlier which includes metal and wood finish surrounds which might suit your needs, but unfortunately not brass or oak though.  They also mention on page 20 that outlets up to 20A need to be a minimum of 50mm from the floor, 120mm for outlets over 20A.
