Le_Jars
Anyone found a product here to paint melamine with? I have to do a quick fix on some kitchen cupboards and wondered whether it was worth trying anything like this, as I don't believe you can actually paint the stuff and get it to last. Unless anyone knows any different? Thanks.
dryliner
i do not know of any product available in france but in the uk you can buy zinsser (solvent based) or supergripp (dulux water based) use as a base coat then paint surface with paint of your choice,i have painted loads of different surfaces using one these primers first including plastic and melamine then i use ordinary emulsion to colour the surface and i finish using dulux diamond glaze or ronseal diamond floor varnish this dries rock hard and is very tough and hardwearing. YCCMB
Both ronseal and International Paints do paints specifically for melamine. I took some over to France to repaint a particularly revoltingly-pink bathroom cabinet combo. It worked perfectly.
Le_Jars
Thanks, but does that mean these paints don't exist in France?
Russethouse
You could ask them !http://www.international-paints.co.uk/moreinfo.phphttp://www.ronseal.co.uk/contact/index.jsp

Le_Jars
Ronseal were less than helpful and 'International' paints, aren't! [:(]

Dick Smith
An old friend who can't post here any more had his kitchen cupboard doors resprayed at the local garage. Good if you want a plain colour, and they looked ace. Provided they are given a good degreasing first I imagine it would work.
