Dan S
We are renovating a big house (350mc) from scratch up at 500m height in the cevennes including wet UFH. We hoped to use aerothermie to provide the heat but (big but) we now find that the max elec supply from edf at the moment is 6kva. So we must go with diesel or wood or gaz for the heating (We need to save up our electricity for lights and circuits..).Lots of wood on the property but I'm told that only pellets will give a consistent result. Diesel and gaz are not green at all and subject to mad fluctuations in price. Any thoughts? The figures i can find are out of date and do not of course convey hands on experiences...Thanks
Eos
Dan, I have oil powered UFH which is very successful. But I also have a wood burner in the family room for those times when we have a power cut, usually on stormy, wet nights like tonight! The point being that if you have systems that depend on power, as oil & pellets do, then you are probably going to need an independent heat source too for added comfort.
