passepartout
I have received a devis that does not appear to have the 14 digit siret number. It does have R C Bordeaux B......... number and a TVA number. Does anyone know what RC Bordeaux means and should there be a siret number, any helpful advice please. Clair
RC stands for Registre des Commerces (sometimes RCS for Registre des Commerces et Sociétés).Next is the town of Registration (here Bordeaux) and a letter (A = personne physique ; B = personne morale ; C = groupement d’intérêt économique, agent commercial ; D = société civile). Then there should be 9 digits (SIREN).The SIRET number is composed from the SIREN+ 5 digits (NIC) which represent the place where the business is located. If you have all this, you can check the company registration here: http://avis-situation-sirene.insee.fr/avisitu/jsp/avis.jsp
Nick Trollope
There is no compulsion to show a SIRET number on a devis.Normally, digits 3 to 11 (ignoring thr "FR") of a TVA number are the SIRET number.
