cowoman
Hello we have got a flight of stairs leading up into the loft space. As you walk up the stairs there is a space for a bedroom on the left. . It is currently open and would need a wall and a door putting in It already has windows and a floor. Then as you go to the top of the stairs there is another doorway into the main loft.Do you think we would need to ask for planning to convert the space on the left of the staircase even though it has floor and windows already installed? Gyn_Paul
The good news is that broadly, you can do what you like with the interior of a house provided you don't (as would be the case I think with you) need to put in windows or exterior doors. You would be expected to fill in an 'H1' tax form when you've finished because you will have added taxable living space to the house, so your taxe d'habitation will go up; but you expected that, didn't you?[:D]p
cowoman
We already have double glazed windows and an internal staircase but would need to put a wall to stop you seeing in from the staircase and a door in.
