Anton Redman
Has anybody found a source for the expanded metal mesh that you attach to OSB board before rendering. It has a V structure which captures the render. I will be doing the rounds of Point P, Reaseau Pro and Toute Faire in the morning but despite playing with a number of alternative French phrases I have not found it in anybody's on line catalogue. A brand name, the correct name in French or a weblink would be great.Have found a glass fibre mess and at a pinch chicken wire helps but would still prefer to find the right products. Chancer
I asked my wonderfully helpful (not) french friend (who knows where to get anything and everything and cheap except for every occasion when I take him up on his offer) the same question, he said to ask for matal deployé at a particular fournisseur, they had it but it was panels of a relatively thick and very expensive stainless steel Expamet expanded metal. As I used to work for the Expamet group I knew that what I had found was overkill for my application, the same one as yours, and that they made something much lighter in galvanised steel that came in a roll. I asked him again and described what I had found and what I had been searching for, he told me that it was not available in France so I bought at great cost the metal deployé.When he rendered his wooden facade one year later guess what he used[:@]Moral of the story is dont trust my pote, there have been many other occasions like that including the buddy with a window factory that had retired when I needed some windows but miraculously restarted very soon after to make yet more windows for my "friend", and to try a fournisseur for metal deployé but only accept the stuff purpose made for rendering facades, I now know that it exists but still not where to find it.Editted I remember that he told me to ask for "Niergalto" which I think is either the trade or generic name but of course that may have been the super expensive "pigeon anglais" type! Anton Redman
Many thanks - 'metal deploye' helped and 'Nergalto' was a brand name.'Lattice Support Enduit' seems to be the right phrase and I have a couple of photographs of the stuff to show at the builders. At least now they will be able to say there is no demand.
Chancer
[:D][:D][:P]Let me know how little you pay for it so that I can flaggelate myself, to make matters worse I will soon be removing the expensive stuff that I used (of course now cut into unusable sizes) as I have changed my plans, it doesnt even look much like stainless now as it has a real good covering of rust. Anton Redman
Suspect you may not need to flaggelate yourself removing the sheet will do it for you. Have just unloaded sheets and am now dripping blood over the keyboard - it is rather sharp. I paid € 10,00 a square meter including TVA for mesh without the vapour barrier at Point P. Toute Faire were closed for holidays. Big Mat said they did not stock it but could order it. I could not face the drive up to Reseau Pro. I hope it will take a day off the time it takes me to render and produce a better job.Anybody know how much a square metrer it is in the UK ?
