thunderhorse
We are converting our loft and installing/re-routing wiring. Is it permissible to run 3-core cable through new partitions, or should all wiring be in gaine?Cheers
Chancer
To respect the normes all wiring should be in gaine or surface mounted trunking so as (in theory at least) to be renewable without destroying the decor. You are of course still (at this moment in time) free to respect or otherwise the regs in your own house, but be aware that you may pay the price when you come to sell with the new electrical installation checks. Val_2
Have just checked with my son who is a french trained and qualified electrician and he agrees - all in gaines or trunking especially with the new checks coming in and for insurance purposes too. thunderhorse
Many thanks. In actual fact the gaine préfilée from Brico-Depôt seems to be the cheapest option purchase-wise in any event. So it pays to be correct... [:D]
