SEDE
Further to previous post and helpful replies we have decided to go for the electrical version of water heater and have been quoted for an Atlantic model Gamme ACI 100L Chauffe eau electrique. As we are not really up to speed with french products can anyone tell us if this a good make and model?
gosub
Atlantic are big players in the electric water heating market, I don't know about that particular model.
Benjamin
Not knowing the extent of your requirement for hot water but I think most people have at least a 200 litre and sometimes a 300 litre tank.
Callie
How many people in your house??? We provide a 200 ltr tank in our gite for up to 4 people and no-one has ever said they have run out of hot water. Atlantic is a well known make of water tank. The most important thing is to make sure that the heating element is powerful enough. Otherwise you could be waiting a long time for your water to heat up ! Gluestick
If you are on a cheap supply (such as Heure Creuse at night) I would always go for a 200 litre tank as a minimum, space providing. The only other comment is to always select a Steatite element array as this resists corrosion for longer, whilst being slightly more expensive. It is worth the extra investment, however, since most of the cost in in the fitting. If you are self-installing, then Brico Depot or Leroy Merlin when they have offers!Final comment: always insist on a stand! Full tanks weigh lots!I have seen them pulling masonry bolts out over time.Nasty!
tj
Hi100L is not enough for more than one person, straight forward installation of a good quality 200L tank is 450 euros give or take a few euros.
Anton Redman
100 litres is OK for 2 if you shower rather than use the bath. Cost savings are so marginal that I would go for 200 litres unless space was at a real premium and I was mounting in the eaves or cellar.
