Doodle
As the sun is shining today I am going to start preparing the kitchen walls and ceiling ready for painting. Can anyone recommend a french paint, matt finish, brilliant white would be OK but I would prefer a chalk white if it's possible to get it. I'm in the Mayenne (53).Thanks, Chris
Callie
Bricoman's paint is very good and cheaper than a lot of French paint. Their Mosaic range is excellent. If you want a slightly off white, go for "Blanc cassé". They do all finishes.
mint
The only good white paint I have found is one made by Corona. It's called acrylic (which equates to emulsion), comes in 40 litre-drums and I have bought it at both Intermarche Bricos and Leroy Merlin.Lovely clear white, nice obliterating effect (even of old water-stains, etc), one dense coat does it all. Even better than Crown Professional range from UK, and that's saying a lot because I am very fond of using the Crown Professional paints.

Jo
I would also recommend the Corona, having heard horror stories of French paint, I was very pleased with the results with this one, and it isn't horrendously expensive[:D]
