Jo
I have seen some "pot bellied" shaped railings used to top off walls and would like some more information about sizes costs etc, I have tried searching the usual sites Lapeyre, Leroy merlin Castorama etc, but have come up empty-handed, presumably I'm searching under the wrong heading? [blink] Can anyone help?
cassis
If you can't find anything readymade (if they are locally popular, have you tried reclamation yards?) you could get a quote from a ferronnerie d'art like this:http://www.thevenet-ferronnerie.fr/Is this a good time to be taking out a second mortgage to pay for it, though? Jo
Some seriously nice stuff there! The ones I have seen must be available "off the peg" as there's so many of the same design around, I think they are too modern to be found in reclamation yards though? Have you used the firm in your link, as I'm looking for a nice 'individual' gate too! But would I really need a second mortgage to pay for it?[:(]
cassis
I found that guy by searching yellow pages for your region.I got a quote for an over-door porch in iron and glass from a ferronnier that, spent elsewhere, could have saved the current Wall Street crisis. I've decided to go for something in wood and tile more suited to my modest pockets. If you think they are available ready-made locally I would keep looking for a while. Anton Redman
Try google.fr using ‘Balcon Clotures’ as the search http://www.dimac-macrail.fr/macrail.php Suspect I might learn to weld.

Misty123
I have heard that the pot bellied type are traditionally Spanish. The straight ones being French. In the same conversation I was speaking with someone who said they were refused planning premission because of this.
