chirpy
I have a jtul and the ashpan door seal is getting ragged at the end and loose.I presume cement not holding the end.I have bought a kit of2.7m and including cementsalesman said leave fre off after repair for 12 hours!!!!!!!The instruction on cement tube says leave 2-3 hours. Stuart
I have always used EGG WHITES as the solvent glue...Can use it even when the fire is lit and hot...Worked wonders over the last 20 odd years of woodburners...In fact, the fire NEEDS to be lit to "cook" the egg whites..At least you get no loss of fire for 12 hours.. Âme
Ab, I had the same conundrum. I left the glue to dry for three hours, then replaced the door & lit a fire. It's been fine (two months & counting).Should it start to peel away, I'd be prepared to try egg white... (does this really work?!!) Stuart, do you wet the string first, as for the solvent/glue? How much do you use; soak the string or a thin bead? [8-)]
