sharkhunter
Hi all, just a quickie, the water pressure for my central heating drops every night after the heating goes off and is at zero when it goes back on early evening next day, is this normal or do i have a problem? thanks, Hugh. jondeau
It sounds as though the system needs topping up.When cold it should be about 1 bar........rising to about two bar when hot.Somewhere near the boiler there should be a mains water supply, from which you should top up the system when it is cold to one bar. sharkhunter
Hey Jondeau, thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned this but i have topped it up quite a lot, too often really hence the question. I had a quick check for the same problem last night in previous posts and i think i may have to call in a plumber to fix it. It drops below 1 bar every day, to zero in fact and although i dont top it up every day it still works-ish, the last two rads on the line, one either side of the house are quite often hot at the top but cold at the bottom. I have bled them till i am blue in the face, the whole system gets done but to no avail. I have recently changed the purge valves thinking that would be the problem...........still the same. Thanks anyway, Hugh.
jondeau
In that case it sounds like you have a leak somewhere..........best of luck.
