carnige
Hi allI am intending to build a a small lean to pergola to form a support for vines/Climers onto the back of our house. It would ideally come out from the house about 2.5m and be about 3 -4m long, It would have no roofing attached, just wires to support plants etc.Can anyone tell me if I need special permission to do this? ViVienne
we are planning to do the exact same thing, I hadn't thought about planning permission, I assumed not because it's not a permanent structure. Ours is also 2.5 x 4 metres, so I too would be interested to hear if we need permission.
Department71
Did exactly this last year with some wood I purchased, plus some bolts, just got on with it. Used a roll of that cane fencing stuff for the roof and used the area for sitting out in the shade, lovely dappled effect with the sun. Never thought of seeing if the Marie could find any regulations for us.Steve
expat paul
We went to our Mairie last year to ask the same question, and were told that provided it had no "permanent roof", to just get on with it. However if in doubt ask.
