BIG MAC
Really basic quaestion but I am going to ask anyhoo! If I have a very large room and subdivide it using a stud wall into two moderate sized rooms do my taxes go up for the 'Extra' room?If I have a large room and subdivide it with a stud wall which stops short of the ceiling by 6 inches and the gap is concealed both sides by a fabric pelmet is it simply 1 room with a divider for taxation purposes?I don't want to break the rules but would like to errmmm... 'Understand' them a little better!Cheers,
Nick Trollope
Possibly - the TH is set on some notional rental value.Unlikely, IMHO, however.
Nearly Retired (I am now)
My view.....It's your house and you just go ahead and do whatever you want inside it.If you are the sort of person who doesn't report himself to the police everytime he drives over the speed limit you should be quite comfortable with this.My tin hat is now strapped on, goggles on and the flak jacket belted up......... Clair
In my opinion, as you are not creating new or additional liveable space, nor changing the room use (new kitchen/bathroom/WC), you do not have to worry about TF or TH, as you do not need to apply for a déclaration préalable. This is what I'm looking at: http://vosdroits.service-public.fr/F17578.xhtml...PS: I'm not a specialist [:)]
Anton Redman
Broadly no - if the room was say 8 metres by 5 metres it should have been taxed as two rooms anyway
