WJT
As I mentioned the tiles going on the wall are natural stone 40x40 cm and 1.2 cm in depth. The tiler has apparently had problems taking out the 3mm separators and he is leaving them in. He will be doing my shower soon and does anyone know if it is OK to grout over plastic separators embedded between the tiles? Thank you so much in advance. Clair
That should be no problem as long as they are lower than the tile.
Théière
Tile spacers can either be left in or removed providing the grout will cover them to make the tiling water tight.
WJT
Thank you for the responses. I have just sent him on his way and will have to get another tiler for the other bathroom and to do the grouting on this shower. After all of his mistakes I just didn't trust him.[:(]
BIG MAC
If you use an electrical screwdriver you can generally ping them out by putting the blade behind the plastic and pulling forward, they usually break but its not difficult.
WJT
Thank you Big Mac. However, if it won't be a problem unfortunately this is the least of my worries with this tiling job.[:(]Edit: The below is just another little problem. I am now worried that the floor will not be stable and the tiles fall of the wall after phoning a tiler in the UK to get some expert advice. The separators being left and tiles not being flat and the grout turning colours turns out may not be the worst of it.http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/1720839/ShowPost.aspx
